This week’s project is a Coneflower Celebration card with Color Challenge colors that completely surprised me—in the best way! When I pulled Mossy Meadow, Lemon Lolly, and Fresh Freesia from the Color Coach, I wasn’t thrilled. But after grabbing one of my favorite new bundles (Coneflower Celebration) and playing with layers, texture, and color, I ended up loving how it all came together.
With the help of the new Coneflower Celebration Bundle from Stampin’ Up!, this handmade card came together beautifully. It’s layered, textured, and a perfect example of how neutrals like Crumb Cake can pull bold colors together.

🎨 How I Colored & Die-Cut the Coneflower Celebration Elements
Using Basic White cardstock, I stamped the coneflower parts from the Coneflower Celebration bundle and colored them with Stampin’ Blends:
- Petals: Fresh Freesia
- Center: Lemon Lolly
- Leaves/Stems: Mossy Meadow
I also die-cut the folded coneflower shape from Lemon Lolly cardstock to create a unique card closure flap.
🛠️ Assembling the Coneflower Celebration Card with Color Challenge Layers
To create the interactive flap that holds the card together:
- Cut a 1½” x 8½” strip of Lemon Lolly, scored at 4ÂĽ”
- Adhere this strip to the inside center of the Mossy Meadow fold-over panel before you add any layers
Inside the Card:
- Add a 4″ x 4″ Basic White panel
- Stamp your Greeting
- Embellish with a coordinating strip of DSP and a stamped/colored butterfly from the Coneflower Celebration set
Front of the Card:
- Flag the end of the Lemon Lolly flap
- Adhere the folded Lemon Lolly coneflower to the front of the Mossy Meadow fold-over panel
- Layer the colored die-cut coneflower on top of the folded piece
- Tuck a Crumb Cake scrap with the stamped sentiment under the flower for a layered focal point

Finally, adhere this folded panel to the Crumb Cake base with the DSP layer added in the first step.
🎀 Embellishing Your Coneflower Celebration Card
To bring texture and balance to the card, I added:
- Distressed White Woven Ribbon
- Linen Thread, unraveled for a soft, rustic bow
- Neutral Matte Dots for just a touch of bling
🧠Tip for Color Challenges
Not loving your pulled combo right away? Try grounding your colors with a neutral like Crumb Cake or Basic White. It helps neutralize shades like Lemon Lolly and Fresh Freesia pop without feeling overwhelming.
This Coneflower Celebration card is now one of my favorite creations from the challenge so far—and it all started with hesitation!
