If you’re looking for a cozy, crafty way to decorate for the holidays, this little banner featuring the Humble Home Stamp Set and Punch Bundle, along with elements from the Peaceful Seasons Bundle, is a must-try! Perfect for a tiered tray, a monitor, or even as a mini gallery wall feature, this banner combines sweet gingerbread houses, soft colors, and a hint of sparkle.
Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Your Holiday Banner:
Step 1: Cutting & Scoring Your Base
For this banner, I used two coordinating colors of cardstock: one sheet of Pretty in Pink and one of Pecan Pie. Cut each sheet to 8 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ and score and fold in half to create pieces that are 8 1/2″ x 2 3/8″. Feel free to use any two coordinating colors of your choice to personalize your design!
Step 2: Stamping and Embossing Your Gingerbread Homes
For the banner, you’ll need three houses of each color. Using the Humble Home Stamp Set and the Versamark ink pad. For a snowy, festive look, emboss your houses with white embossing powder, using a heat gun for a crisp finish. Here’s a little tip: fit four houses on each sheet of cardstock just in case one doesn’t cut quite right.
Step 3: Punching Your Folded Houses
With your folded piece ready, align the roofline just under the peak of the punch. Carefully punch out each folded house, creating folded gingerbread houses that can easily wrap around the ribbon.
Step 4: Adding Details and Color
Now to bring each house to life!
- Pecan Pie Houses: Color the scallops with a white gel pen and add Wink of Stella to the windows and doors for a frosted sparkle.
- Pretty in Pink Houses: For a two-tone look, use the Pretty in Pink Stampin’ Write Marker for shading, with a brighter pink for the door. Add a little Wink of Stella on the windows for extra sparkle.
Step 5: Adding Your Center Greeting
For the final touch, create a small center banner using stamps and dies from the Peaceful Seasons Bundle. I used the greeting “Christmas is in the Air” to anchor the middle of the banner.
Step 6: Assembling the Banner
Attach each gingerbread house to a piece of Basic Beige Bordered ribbon for a soft, neutral base. Use a small piece of Tear & Tape on each house to hold them in place while still allowing them to slide back and forth on the ribbon. Finish by adding Pretty in Pink-bordered ribbon and linen thread for extra texture.
Display and Enjoy!
Once you’ve assembled everything, this banner is ready to decorate! Hang it on a tiered tray, drape it over your monitor, or use it as a charming accent for a mini gallery wall.
