ocean friends fun fold
There are two things I just can’t stay away from—a fun fold and some bright, beautiful colors. This card has both! It features the adorable Ocean Friends Stamp Set & Dies, a fun pop-up fold on the inside, and some gorgeous coordinating Designer Series Paper to tie it all together.
You know I love a project that packs a punch and is simple to recreate—this one fits the bill perfectly!

✂️ Project Dimensions:
Base Card:
- 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ along the 11″ side
Inside Pop-Up Section (same color as base):
- 4″ x 9 1/4″, score at 2″, 4″, and 6″ on the 9 1/4″ side
Designer Series Paper:
- 3 1/4″ x 4″
- 5″ x 4 1/4″
- Two pieces at 1 3/4″ x 3 3/4″
Pop-Up Mechanism:
- 1″ x 2″, score at 1/2″, 1″, and 1 1/2″ — roll into a rectangle shape to use as your support piece inside
🌟 A Few Design Details:
On the front, I layered a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of DSP onto a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of coordinating cardstock. The focal point is a sweet underwater scene built with the Ocean Friends bundle, and I brought in one of the arches from the Every Day Arches Dies to frame it all. So fun and whimsical!
🐚 Assembling the Inside Pop-Up:
This part might look fancy, but it’s easier than it seems!
- Accordion fold your 4″ x 9 1/4″ piece along the score lines.
- Add glue to the bottom section and attach it centered left to right and equal distance to the inside bottom section of the card base.
- Fold the pop-up closed, add glue to the back of the top section, then close the card to secure it perfectly in place.
- Use the rolled rectangle mechanism to pop up a cute sea creature or greeting!
