DIY Last Minute 4th of July Treats

2 Jul

Need a quick and inexpensive handmade gift for your neighbors, coworkers, party guests, or grandkids? I’ve got you covered!

These patriotic treats come together in just a few minutes and are the perfect little “just because” gift for your Independence Day celebrations. Whether you fill them with sparklers or glow bracelets, they’re sure to bring a smile!

What I Used

  • 1″ x 8″ cello bags from Amazon
  • Three sparklers for each bag (I found mine at Walmart) or Red, White & Blue Glow Bracelets
  • Blueberry Bushel Cardstock
  • Scraps of Basic White, Poppy Parade, and Balmy Blue Cardstock
  • Circle dies or punches
  • Sparkling Celebrations stamp set from the May 2026 Paper Pumpkin
  • Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder (retired)
  • Swirl of Magic Embossing Folder (July Online Exclusive)
  • Coordinating ribbon
  • Baker’s Twine

Putting It Together

Quick and Easy DIY 4th of July Treats

Slip three sparklers into the cello bag, then wrap the top with a strip of Blueberry Bushel cardstock. Decorate the wrap with layered circles cut from Basic White, Poppy Parade, and Balmy Blue cardstock.

To add a little extra texture, I embossed the circles using both the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder and the new Swirl of Magic Embossing Folder. The sentiment comes from the Sparkling Celebrations stamp set from the May 2026 Paper Pumpkin kit.

Finish the treat bag by tying coordinating ribbon around the top and attaching the tag with a little Baker’s Twine.

That’s it! A festive handmade gift that’s quick to make but looks like you spent much more time creating it.

Don’t Want to Use Sparklers?

These are just as adorable filled with red, white, and blue glow bracelets! They’re a fun, kid-friendly alternative that still feels festive.

Since the glow bracelets are a little longer than the sparklers, I simply increased the cardstock wrap to 1¼” x 10″ instead of 1¼” x 8½”. Everything else stays exactly the same.

I may end up making a few of each because they’re just too cute!

I hope this inspires you to create a few last-minute treats to share this Fourth of July. Handmade gifts don’t have to be complicated to be meaningful, and these little favors are proof that a few simple supplies can make something extra special.
