If you love a card that looks detailed but comes together easily… this one is for you 💛
This month’s tutorial features the Scallop Wishes bundle paired with the Flower Fair background, and it’s one of those designs where you can let the paper and layers do all the work for you.
The best part?
You don’t need to color everything. (We are not signing up for that kind of commitment today 😄)

What Makes This Card Special
This one is all about contrast, texture, and those little details that pull everything together:
- Bold contrast that makes everything pop
That black embossed panel (hello Exposed Brick 👏) gives you a rich, textured backdrop that makes the soft florals and pastel die cuts stand out so much more. - Soft coloring that doesn’t steal the show
The Flower Fair background is lightly colored around the edges, which keeps it airy and lets your focal point take center stage. - Layered scallops for instant dimension
The mix of Basic Black and Basic White scalloped dies creates that delicate, doily-style frame without feeling fussy. It looks intricate, but it is just smart layering. - A focal cluster that feels balanced, not busy
The florals and leafy elements wrap around the sentiment instead of covering it, which keeps everything clean and easy to read while still feeling full. - That dragonfly detail 🖤
The layered dragonfly with soft wings and a bold black body adds movement and just enough contrast to tie into the background. - Ribbon that actually works with the design
Wrapping the Barely Blush ribbon around the panel (instead of just sticking a bow on top) grounds the whole card and adds softness right where you need it. - Just enough sparkle
Those subtle gems and Wink of Stella give you a little shine without turning it into a disco ball situation ✨
A Few Design Tips
Before you grab the tutorial, here are a couple of things to keep in mind when you make this card:
Do not over-color the background
Focus on the outer edges of the flowers and leave the center lighter. Your focal point will cover that space anyway, and this keeps everything soft and balanced.
Let the layers do the work
Between the scalloped dies, embossed panel, and florals, you do not need anything complicated. Just stack and build.
Mix textures for interest
The contrast between the smooth cardstock, embossed brick texture, and delicate die cuts is what makes this card feel finished.
Add sparkle strategically
A little Wink of Stella on the florals goes a long way.
